Responsibility

Amgen Breda volunteers at De Honingraad: centre for people living and coping with cancer.

Each year, Amgen staff across the world generously devote their time, energy, and talents funds to charitable organizations. A group of volunteers from Amgen Breda rolled up their sleeves at De Honingraad. This center, which thrives on the efforts of volunteers, offers a welcoming space for people living and coping with cancer.

The connection between our mission to serve patients and the work of De Honingraad made this day particularly meaningful. Hence, it was a logical choice for our colleagues to use their ‘impact day’ for this organization. Every year, Amgen employees are given the opportunity to volunteer one working day a year for a charity of their choice. With this 'Impact Day', Amgen's employees are creating a significant impact in Breda and beyond.

Our colleagues took on a variety of much-needed tasks at De Honingraad. From weeding and sprucing up the front garden, to moving a heavy cabinet and washing windows — no task was too big or too small. Through these efforts we have been able to help the staff of De Honingraad and contribute to a place where people feel welcome and supported.

They rely heavily on volunteers, and every extra pair of hands is welcome, so we are proud that we could be of assistance. This was our first time volunteering here, but given the positive experience we look forward to helping out more often in the future.

At Amgen Breda, we strongly believe in giving back to the community. This initiative is just one way we fulfill our mission of helping patients on a broader scale. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside De Honingraad in creating a supportive environment for everyone.
