Amgen in motion: employees shine during the Bredase Singelloop

On Sunday, October 6, the 37th edition of the Amgen Bredase Singelloop took place, an annual running event of which Amgen is the main sponsor. The event brings together thousands of people and spectators each year, who enjoy a beautiful route through the historic centre and along the charming canals of Breda. This edition of the Singelloop was especially significant for Amgen, not only was there a strong involvement from Amgen employees, but the Singelloop was also the kick-start of Mission Week.

Involvement of Amgen
For Amgen, the Singelloop is a special event every year. Not only because Amgen is the main sponsor, but also due to the large interest of her employees to participate This year, an impressive 400 enthusiastic runners - colleagues and their buddies - donned their sportswear and ran, cheered on by family and friends from the sidelines. The runners took on the challenge of running 5, 10 or even 21 kilometers, where they not only pushed their physical limits but also created memories that will last a lifetime. Next to our runners, we also had Family Run participants – colleagues who ran an appropriate distance with their kids – with the opportunity to walk instead of running.

Official Opening of Mission Week
This year, the Singelloop had a special touch thanks to the presence of the mayor of Breda, Paul Depla who, together with Jan Bouman, the Associate Vice President of Amgen Breda, officially kicked off the start of Mission Week. Mission Week is a special week that is entirely focused on Amgen’s mission: "to serve patients". This mission emphasizes the company’s commitment to improving the health of patients worldwide.
