Amgen grew very fast the last couple of years: many more persons joined Amgen, new offices have been opened, new business units have been set-up, etc. Keeping up with all these changes is very challenging and requires a lot of flexibility from the employees; but if things work out it also gives an enormous good feeling. And being part of a growing and very successful organization makes it possible to grow fast and to develop a variety of skills in a short period of time.
After some time and having worked on multiple international projects my role changed into a program management role and I became responsible for managing a portfolio of projects. I've taken up the challenge to manage a team of business analysts delivering solutions for the commercial organization of Amgen International and recently I've been asked to set up of the project management office for the international IS organization. Based on this experience I expect to have many more interesting and exciting years at Amgen, and am looking forward to the near future where we will launch new products and our organization will start expanding to new parts of the world. Things have never been boring at Amgen and I have the feeling it will never be. You never know what the future will bring, but I am convinced it will be once more very interesting.
